Vietnam: Thai Nguyen

Thai Nguyen is where the Cole-Frenches live.  It's about an hour and a half north of Hanoi.  Here we are settling in with the kids.

Each house has a top floor that is open to the breeze, so that you can hang your laundry there.

Fresh pineapple!

We visited the Museum of Ethnic Minorities.  Learned a bit more about the Kinh who are the largest tribe and identify as the Viet people, the Mnong who tamed elephants, the Cham who are partially Muslim, the Khmer who are Buddhist, others who worshiped ancestors and nature spirits, some who practiced sorcery...

We are really impressed with our friend Coli, who has learned so much about Vietnamese culture and language.

Kind of a Polynesian shape?

Shakes!  Mine was avocado - awesome!

Here's Will giving me a ride.  While he talked on his cellphone!

Just so you can see that there was a decent amount of traffic.

Street scenes in Thai Nguyen

Notice the "X-Men" fashion label?

Notice that traffic flows in both directions, on both sides of the street!
