The Nagasawa family trip to Italy and France: June 12 - 30, 2008
(the links are the days in purple; click on them to see pictures)
June 22, 2008:
After we flew from Rome to Marseilles in southern France, we drove the next day to Les Barcares and checked into our campgrounds, then went to the beach. It was the first time the kids played in the Mediterranean.
Then we went to a town called Claira where my sister Mari, her husband Richard, and their 1 year old son Lucas were staying at Richard's mom and dad's place. We hadn't met Lucas face to face before, so we were excited to see him!
Richard's parents, Andre and Nicole Laine, served us a delicious Catalan-French meal. Muscat is a sweet wine made in the region, and we ate it with cheese and chips for an apertif.
Zoe wasn't happy with her blue lemonade. The blue comes from a mint syrup that is sold in France to flavor drinks.
Then came fresh cantaloupe with prosciutto.
Richard and his dad Papa Andre. We're eating a yummy chicken with green beans.
Then came real ratatouille, a French eggplant dish featured in the recent movie of the same name.
After the main course came cheese (from various regions of France) and chilled rose wine.
Here's our generous chef and Lucas' grandma, Mama Nicole! Here she is serving us her apricot cake.
