We took the kids to see and hike Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Antelope Canyons, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Monterey Bay. Then we attended a 25 year reunion of Mako's Christian fellowship friends in Monterey.

We woke up early to make it out to Angel's Landing, the most difficult climb of Zion. Unfortunately my left knee was hurting badly from the day before.
We made it to Scout's Landing.
Ahead was Angel's Landing. Notice the people - tiny in the picture, trekking across the narrow pass guided by the chain. Check out this video someone else made of climbing Angel's Landing. The view of the Zion valley is commanding. Sadly, I decided not to try it because my left knee was hurting.
Back at the lodge.
Then we went to the Court of the Patriarchs.
In the afternoon, we drove to another part of Zion called Kolob Canyon. It had impressively red rocks.
I took an interest in tenacious trees.
This was a fascinating grotto.
Then we found a small waterfall hidden in a crevice
John's Smeagol impersonation
Driving back into the main canyon of Zion.
We stopped for ice cream to reward ourselves.
