On our last day in Paris was a national holiday.  We got to a museum about Paris' history, but it was closed.  So we walked around leisurely.   And we went to this park instead, surrounded by symmetrically designed residences.  John loved feeding pigeons here.
The Orangerie, a garden off to the side of the park.  There's little John on the walkway.  For him, there was a bit of a maze element.   Turns out that Victor Hugo, author of Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, once lived in one of the residences near the park.  Mako and John at the doorstep of 6 Place de Vosges, the home of Victor Hugo.
Wine was definitely cheaper than in the States.  We brought home a 1999 Bordeaux white wine and a 1997 Margaux red.  Wine shops... ...and cheese shops (and pastry shops, too!) abound in Paris.  We brought home rather smelly cheeses, too.

(right) Crossing the bridge, we encountered a bad of musicians.  In the river were a few restaurant boats.
Ming with our ever-present tour book, passing Notre Dame once again. We saw an open-air market full of stands for food, flowers, and other stuff.

After getting home, John caught up on all the news he missed.
